12.50pm and the weather was nice and so I decided to get on on the new bike, I wanted to see if my ride experience was going to be any better than the other day, so I went the same route as I did with my old bike.

Top of my street onto the Victoria Road and headed the mile it is towards Victoria and onto the old A30, I'm pleased to say that the £ 28 quid I spent on cycliing shorts paid off this time as I decided to wear the padded inshorts inside my outer shorts and damm that was a heck of alot more comfort, not to mention this bike now having front suspension on the forks, which made all the difference for a smoother ride.

Then it was a case of turning left at the main road junction and cycling up a small hill and then down over towards the infamous Iron Bridge again, this time I managed not to miss the gap in the hedge and got myself onto the sand trail that runs parallel to the old A30 and runs for another mile and a half now to Tregoss parking area.

Heading down onto the Goss Moor

This time I did a bit more research into the route and now know thatr when I get down to the Owl Sanctuary I needed to go over the bridge which crosses the new A30 bypass and down into the bottom of indian queens, which was by road this time but only about a mile or so until I picked up the route along side an industrial estate near Gnome world, then across the new A30 bypass and back onto the moor.

The Cycle Trail in the background

Cycling helmet and bike were proving a great investment so far and the ride was so much better than on the old bone shaker, which over the years I've done quite a few miles on over the years, but not been out on it for a long while.

The Remains of the Mineral Tramway

The Tramway, very overgrown

I wondered off the official cycle track for a short distance to check out the route of the old mineral branch line that ran through St Dennis and was once connected to the Newquay to Par Branch line.

Other remains of the old tramway include the Toldsih Tunnel a short distance from this location which I've visited and there's a Youtube video of my Visit there.

Warning although there is a footpath that runs close to the Toldsih Tunnel, but it's Dangerous to Trespass on the railway line £ 1,000 fine if you're caught.
